Great Way To See The Region
"A huge thank you to Nat & Neil for providing a family feeling around our bike holiday. Both are fantastic hosts and their food was delicious.
We visited during a heat wave but Neil was very knowledgeable in suggesting possible routes that could keep us out of the heat some what. The selection of rides seemed almost endless, there is something for all riders. We were on muscle bikes and the quality and maintenance was a high standard.
A really nice touch was the beer and drink fridge that was a welcome sight after a long ride.
Once we we got our heads around the GPS navigation it was easy to ride without getting off course which allows you to look at the beautiful landscape. There was always the hard copy of the route to take as well.
Neil & Nat having the local knowledge really helped in choosing restaurants which are quite close to the B&B, everything was approx. 20mins or less from home base or a short walk into town which had many nice places to eat.
All in all a great place to stay and visit and months after I'm still talking to friends about the trip. Hope to see you again."
Bike Vacation in Provence, France. - Rob & Alison - AUS - July 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Wonderful week of Provence cycling.
"I highly recommend exploring Provence on bikes by way of Neil and Nat at Provence Cycling Holidays. The 400 year old farmhouse converted to cyclist's B&B is charming and very comfortable.
The cycling routes Neil has curated are spectacular and varied. Depending on the type of ride you want, what markets are open that day, museums or galleries you might want to visit -- Neil will recommend one of his more than 50 routes. All are on beautiful roads with minimum auto traffic. And all come accompanied with a card with suggestions for restaurants and sights. And the routes are all programmed into Garmin GPS units which make the rides self-guided and fool-proof.
The breakfasts are spectacular and varied. Neil makes a run for fresh local croissants and fruit every morning. And Neil fixed two spectacular dinners for us, starting with cocktails. Because daughter Lucy and son James sometimes joined us for meals, we felt like family, and learned so much talking with them about their school experiences, politics, etc.
Part of the warm hospitality extended by Nat and Neil is their restaurant recommendations, accompanied by their eagerness to place calls to make reservations.
The pool was an incredibly welcome part of the stay, as even in late May temperatures were getting hot for cycling.
We also enjoyed the experience of getting to know other guests at the B&B. Fascinating people from, in our case, Scotland and Los Angeles, with stories and perspectives to share. We expect to return."
Cycle Vacation in Provence, France. - Dennis and Mary Ann - USA - July 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Perfect Cycling Holiday in Provence, and Lovely Hosts!
"First of all, Neil and Nat and their two children are gracious and all around awesome hosts. They were all warm and friendly and treated us like close friends or family.
The accommodations are superb given the B&B is 400+ years old. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, even by American standards. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the linens were soft. The property is a real treat. I was so pleased to be able to cool off in the pool after a good ride on a hot day. We ate all our meals under the covered porch overlooking the pool and the Luberon mountain.
Speaking of food, it was fresh, tasty, and plentiful. Breakfasts included various yogurts, two types of cereal, lots of fresh fruit, croissants, bread, jams, chocolate (ie Nutella), poached eggs, coffee, teas, etc. The dinners were each truly a work of art. They looked beautiful, smelled wonderful, and were quite delicious. You might think they were chefs in a prior life!
And the cycling... just awesome. Neil's routes take you on roads with little to no traffic until, of course, you get near to one of the destination villages (Gordes, Lacoste, etc where traffic is a given). The roads were in great shape with almost no potholes or other hazards. The Garmin GPS route maps were spot on, and really make it easy to do your ride without worry of getting lost. Neil is very willing to create a custom ride based on your desires, and program it into the GPS before your ride. Neil also previews the route and highlights with you each morning before you head out on your ride.
The bikes, bike helmets, bike bottles, and GPSs were either new or in excellent condition. Nothing felt old or nearly worn out. They were also bikes I'd be proud to own and ride at home.
Neil and Nat also provide restaurant recommendations (lunch or dinner), and will also call and make reservations for you. We were never disappointed with any of their suggestions. Neil and Nat's personal touch was truly the icing on the cake. Heck, they will even wash your clothes for you every day!
Without a doubt, it was the perfect cycling holiday for us! Dont wait, book your Provence Cycling Holiday now! "
Bike Tour in Provence, France. - A.B. & Janet - USA - July 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Absolutely Fantastic
"What an amazing week cycling with Provence Cycling Holidays staying with Neil, Nat and their children Lucy and James in their 1700 century villa.
Each day over a lovely breakfast Neil helped us choose our ride also advising of lunch options and things of interest to visit along the way. The small villages were beautiful, full of history and character. Cycling through the vineyards and past the flowering lavender fields was perfect. Many different routes are offered. Days ended with a refreshing swim in the pool. Neil cooked two great evening meals and dining and interacting with their family and other cyclists was fantastic. Riding great well maintained Trek bikes.
Overall an amazing experience we would highly recommend to anyone cycling in the Provence area. A very professionally, personalised friendly run family business.
Will certainly return if we get the chance."

"If you are planning to visit this area, please consider seeing it with the help of Provence Cycling Holidays! You will not find a more authentic travel experience than this!
Great people, great conversation, wonderful food (& wine), excellent bikes, fantastic routes, charming villages, spot on suggestions. I could keep going but the best thing to do is experience it for yourself. Let hosts, Neil & Nat and their children show you how to enjoy the French countryside. Whether you are an experienced rider or just want to try something different, they will make it work for you! "
Bike Trip in Provence, France. - Travel261149 - Canada - June 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Rolling Through Provence
"Imagine an intimate B&B in a rural setting just a ten minute walk from the small village of Coustellet. This is your start point for daily rides through quiet country roads to visit small historic provençal towns in the Maubec area. Whether pedalling a carbon road bike or gliding along with a power assisted hybrid on one of the many self guided cycle routes, you’ll welcome being able to relax poolside when you return at the end of the day.
Neil and Nat are wonderful hosts who have created a delightful setting from which to explore and where you can relax. "
Cycle Trip in Provence, France. - Peter - Canada - June 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Love this place!!
"This was our second trip to Nat and Neil’s home. We are in our 60’s and are not serious bikers-we come from a flat place! This time around we got the electric bikes which helped us up some of the steeper hills.
The scenery is amazing-we could see and smell the lavender come to life. Neil can help anyone find the correct ride for them with regard to length, ease of ride, the sights and the best places to eat. Using Garmin Gps to navigate is fun-kind if like a living “escape room.”
The two meals with the family (including children, Lucy and Jamie) and the other guests are a great way to swap by riding stories, recipes (Neil is a great cook), and tales from our home countries (we were Canada, Australia and US). The accommodations were superb (we did the shared bathroom with our adult kids 5 years ago and had a private room this time). Laundry is done daily so you can pack light and take home plenty of Provençal goodies. No air con but you don’t need it as it cools down at night and fills your room nicely. We are already talking about a third visit here. "
Bike Tour in Provence, France. - Carrie & Bob - USA - June 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Fabulous Cycling Holiday
"Just returned from an amazing B&B Cycling Holiday in the Luberon Valley. Neil and Nat were perfect hosts, always available when needed with a wealth of useful information and advice but never intrusive. Bikes were excellent, accomodation was lovely and the range of bike rides was fantastic. They're able to adapt their offer the needs of individual cyclists. I would thoroughly recommend this bike holiday."
Cycle Tour in Provence, France. - Bob & Eibhlin - Scotland - June 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Something for everyone!
"Had an excellent week staying with Neil and Nath in May. The B&B is so relaxing, there are cycling routes for everyone, whether one wants an easy day or a challenging day. Amazing scenery and perfect weather for cycling. Our hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the routes. Would definitely recommend Provence Cycling Holidays, ticks all the boxes!"
Bike Break in Provence, France. - Rexplo - USA - May 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Great BnB! Fantastic biking!
"Neil & Nat Cowell’s Provence Cycling Holidays provides a great BnB and combines it with daily self guided cycling tours of the area.
Not only is the BnB outstanding in every category but the cycling experience provides a fantastic self guided daily bike tour. Neil has built a library of GPS guided tours that not only take you to the highlights of the area but keep you on designated bike tracks or very quite roads.
The day starts with a great breakfast and finishes with fine wines and dinner at the BnB."
Cycle Break in Provence, France. - John - USA - May 22 - 5* Tripadvisor review.Gold Standard Self Guided Cycle Tour
"Neil & Natalene set the Gold Standard for self-guided bike touring. We have cycled from their villa with 2 other couples and this year based our cycling at their B&B.
On both occasions we were provided with near flawless guidance from the GPS devices on absolutely gorgeous routes all of which took us away from heavy traffic, going long stretches down country roads, affectionately called “donkey paths”.
In addition, Neil had numerous suggestions for lunch spots on the various hill towns we visited every day as well as suggestions and an offer of making reservations for us at our evening meals.
The ebikes we rented from them were first class, comfortable and had great battery life.
The Villa was very well maintained and commodious. We had one of the rooms with an en suite bathroom. It was very large and very comfortable. Breakfast and our two dinners were outside with lovely views of the countryside. On evenings when we on our own, we sometimes did wine and cheese on the terrace with their blessing and settings.
I’d like to point out something they could have done better to give this review more credibility. I’ve wracked my brain and come up short. Even if I made the weather their responsibility, there would be nothing to criticize. They kept the Mistral largely at bay and one morning we had to delay our departure an hour so for the rain to stop.
Anyone thinking of a self guided bike tour in Europe should put Neil & Natalene at the top of their list. We have done some wonderful tours in the Dordogne, along the Danube, in Portugal and Mallorca. Neil & Natalene do indeed set the Gold Standard."
