Our Bike Tours and COVID-19: 20th Nov 2020 Update.

Bookings are open for 2021 B&B and Villa based bike tours.

The situation in France.

Over the last couple of months, as with most of Europe, France has seen an increase in Covid cases. And again like most of our neighboring countries, we have been under a second confinement from the 30th Oct, in order to bring the number of cases down. Fortunately, it seems to be working and cases have dropped by 65% over the last two weeks.

Locally though, where are in the Luberon valley, we continue to fare considerably better, no doubt due to the size of our villages and our rural setting, as the majority of the hot spots have occurred in cities.

Obviously the encouraging news that we have had over the last couple of weeks, regarding effective vaccines, hopefully means that we are closer to getting back to normal life, and the ability to start travelling again. Vive les holidays!

Covid measures and our tours.

We are of course implementing all necessary Covid measures to keep everybody as safe as possible. Something that is relatively easy given that we have lots of space at our properties and that we run relatively small group numbers, with no more than 8 guests at any one time at the B&B - and no more than 6 guests at the villa. These are not mass tours.

Measures at the B&B -

Hydroalcoholic gels and tissues in each room and at strategic points around the property, along with enhanced end of stay cleaning.
Additional daily cleaning measures at the property and for all bike equipment.
Dining groups are set one metre apart at the B&B, with extra care during food preparation - face mask etc...
Wearing a face mask when walking in the common areas inside the B&B. Keeping 1 metres distance between guests from different groups.

Measures at the Villa -

Hydroalcoholic gels and tissues in each room and at strategic points around the properties, along with enhanced end of stay cleaning.
All bike equipment sanitised at the beginning and end of your tour.

Also something to remember is that our guests spend the majority of their time out biking in their own small groups, made up of family and friends. The biking is also in a low density, rural setting, with the majority of the time being spent in open countryside and the small villages that we visit along the way. Our B&B based tours are on the edge of the small village of Coustellet, whereas our Villa based tours are in the small village of Taillades.

Another advantage that we have is that we can minimise risks by using the quieter, smaller, yet convenient transport hubs to get to our locations. Marignane/Marseille airport is a medium sized, relatively quiet airport (yet it has good links) and we have the Avignon high speed train station (TGV) - which are both just a 50 min car journey away.

If you need to cancel your 2021 tour due to Covid-19 : Info.

We want you to have the peace of mind, that if there were an unforeseen Covid issue, that you would still be covered when making a booking. That's why the below conditions apply to all bookings; present or future.

If you can't travel on your planned date due to Covid-19 (a travel ban by the French, or your local authorities, travel problems, etc), which means you have to cancel, then we are following French Government guidelines on how best to handle bookings.

They first recommend that you contact your travel insurance company, some are playing ball and refunding, though some are not, unfortunately.

If your insurance are not covering Covid-19, then we are not going to apply our full T&Cs, where you would lose your deposit. We will instead follow Government best practice guidelines and offer full deposit credits on a future booking, so that you as a customer don't lose any money.

This will obviously leave us with a deficit for any future rebooking, but we feel that this is the right thing to do.

Guidelines also recommend offering the credit for a maximum of 18 months from the intended travel date. We are going beyond this, in order to make it easier for our guests to rearrange their travel plans after these turbulent times. So a credit on any future planned tour date will be honoured by us.
